Wrestling is one of URI’s newest club sports on campus. The team competes under the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA), a league composed of 9 conferences. URI wrestling is a member of the North East Conference (NEC), and competes against veteran teams such as MIT, Amherst College, Clarkson, Northeastern, SUNY, UMass, UConn, Providence College, Yale, University of New Haven, and the University of New Hampshire, where the NEC national qualifier is hosted. Competition primarily takes place inside the NEC conference but is not limited to the teams mentioned.
