The "It's On Us" National Week of Action runs Nov. 9 - 13.

URI's SAAC and Rhode Island Athletes are taking the "Yards for Yeardley" pledge to run 1 million yards and we are asking for your support!

The final details for the event are below...

Yards for Yeardley will take place this week during the National Week of Action November 9 - 13th

Every student-athlete is responsible for running/jogging/walking 2,500 yards! (If you're injured, ask a teammate to pick up your share)

These yards can be completed in one day or you can split it up over the course of the week.  You may also do it with your team or individually.

2,500 yards = 6 laps around the perimeter of the baseball field.  We are primarily using the baseball field; however, if you choose to do it elsewhere it equates to 1.25 miles.

We are using the honor system to track our yards.  There will be a white board set up at the baseball field for you to write down how many yards you have completed in order to keep a running tally for the week.

Please tag @itsonus and use #yards4yeards in your social media posts! We want people to know Rhode Island is taking a stand in the fight against sexual assault & domestic violence.

We cannot stress enough the importance of this event.  Rhode Island Athletics and student-athletes are national role-models in this fight against sexual assault and domestic violence.  We want to continue to take this leadership role and to fight for what is right because that's what being part of the Ram Fam is all about.
