White privilege is an often misunderstood and contested racial concept. The purposes of this workshop are to (a) examine definitions of white privilege, (b) situate the concept in the contexts of racism and other forms of subjugation in American cultures, (c) explore the salience of racial identity across different racial cultures, and (d) critique the contemporary tendency to deny racism and white privilege.
