We find ourselves in an era of rapid development, investment, and research regarding “equity” in the ocean governance sphere (or “ocean equity”). While this new focus may indeed be a positive development, in this webinar, Abigael Kim and Brian F. O’Neill reckon the evolution of equity across ocean governance literature and discuss how a realignment with the principles of critical environmental justice may safeguard equity’s underlying socially progressive and anti-hegemonic potentials.
