URI Watershed Watch is a state-wide volunteer monitoring program. We provide current (and historical) information on the water quality of surface water resources throughout Rhode Island (and slightly beyond), including lakes, ponds, reservoirs, rivers, streams and the marine environment. We could not do this work without the support and help of trained Watershed Watch volunteers.
This Watershed Watch in-person classroom training helps potential new water quality monitors understand what impacts water quality, what and how we monitor. This training provides a great foundation for becoming a citizen scientist! To learn more or sign up, visit: uri.edu/watershedwatch/getting-involved/become-a-volunteer. Complete the volunteer profile form and we'll send you details about the training process.
