The Department of Chemistry and the College of Arts & Sciences are pleased to present the first Claude and Janice Trottier Lectures in Chemistry. Prof. Richard Saykally from UC Berkeley will be visiting URI on October 15th to present "Water Music: The Latest Word on the Most Important Molecule in the Universe," a public lecture aimed toward anyone with a general interest in science. Prof. Saykally is a world-renowned physical chemist whose research has greatly advanced our understanding of the behavior and properties of water, and he is also a global leader in water resource policy.

This event is free and open to the public. There will be a reception with light refreshments in the main lobby of Beaupre at 5pm, and the lecture will begin at 5:30pm.
