The Office for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning is excited to bring Dr. Saundra McGuire to campus on September 28th and 29th, 2017 to address students and faculty.

Students often come to college with high aspirations, but with inadequate preparation to excel. In this workshop, Dr. McGuire will discuss an advising technique, appreciative advising, that facilitates more effective academic advising of today's students.

Dr. McGuire has been teaching chemistry, working in the area of learning and teaching support, and mentoring students for over 40 years.  She has received wide acclaim for her presentations and workshops on metacognition and student learning.
