URI Pesticide Safety Training

URI Pesticide Safety Training

In Rhode Island pesticide applicators are required to have a Pesticide License to apply General Use Pesticide  (GUP) commercially for hire.  Online training for the Pesticide Applicator Exam is now available to help prepare students for the RI Department of Environmental Management's exam.

In order to use  Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP) applicants will need additional testing in specific categories of specialization: Farming (vegetables, fruit trees, christmas trees), Sales, Shade Trees, Turf and Ornamentals, Aquatic, Right of Way, Structural, Termite, Mosquito and Public Health.

Additionally there will be online opportunities to receive recertification credits to maintain licenses or certifications.  License or certification candidates need to accumulate 8 hours of education every 5 years to maintain their credentials.

The classes will be live on Google and will help prospective applicators understand the principles of pesticide application and the RI Pesticide Control Law to prepare for the state exam.
