Calling all beginning farmers, military veterans, and those interested in pursuing a career in agriculture. Join us for hands-on learning at the URI Agronomy Farm this summer.
Workshops will cover risk management topics ranging from methods to mitigate climate change, sustainable pest and disease management, cover crops and more!

June 19, 2024: Cash Crop : Growing tomatoes for market - high tunnel growing, trellising, pruning and variety considerations

July 17, 2024: Water Conservation: Climate smart irrigation and fertilization
July 31, 2024: Weeds: Identification and management and DIY tool workshop
August 14, 2024: Soil Health: Soil testing, Understanding your soil tests and fertility
August 28, 2024: Sustainable Pest and Disease Management: Scouting, pest and disease identification (field walk), management methods, backpack sprayer demo
September 11, 2024: Produce Safety: harvest, wash and pack
September 25, 2024: Soil Health: Cover cropping, crop rotation and mulching
