Update on the Winter Spring Bloom in Narragansett Bay by Dr. Candace Oviatt

Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 10:30am to 11:30am

Corless Auditorium 215 South Ferry Rd, Narragansett, RI

Please attend a special Bay Campus event in honor of Dr. Candace Oviatt, this year's URI Distinguished Achievement Award honoree. Dr. Oviatt was selected to receive this award because she personifies the University's tradition of excellence in professional achievement, leadership contributions and community service.  She is a well-respected expert in the study of coastal ecosystems. With a particular emphasis on Narragansett Bay, her lab studies show how metabolism, phytoplankton, and respiration contribute to hypoxia (low oxygen), as well as how pollution in the bay affects estuarine ecosystems.

All are welcome to register to attend in person or watch remotely on GSO's YouTube channel
