The Department of Chemistry and the College of Arts & Sciences are excited to announce that Prof. Teri W. Odom (Northwestern University) will be the 2023 Alexander M. Cruickshank Lecturer. Prof. Odom is a world-renowned pioneer in nanomaterials and nanophotonics, and her research group has developed methods for multi-scale fabrication of precision nanomaterials with a broad variety of applications in imaging, medicine, optics, and many other fields. The Cruickshank Lectures are an annual endowed series established by the Board of Trustees of the Gordon Research Conferences that is hosted on a rotating basis by the chemistry, physics, and biology departments at URI.

This event consists of two talks: a seminar for a chemistry and physics audience and a public lecture targeted toward a general audience. The chemistry seminar will be held in room 105 of the Beaupre Center at 3pm, and the general audience talk will be held next door in room 010 of the Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences (CBLS) at 5:30pm; both are free and open to the public. There will be a reception with refreshments before the general audience talk at 5pm in the first floor lobby of CBLS.
