Summer Institute in Digital Literacy

The Summer Institute in Digital Literacy is the nation’s premier professional development program in digital literacy. The program is an intense, week-long multi-disciplinary gathering designed for K-12 educators and school leaders; higher education faculty and researchers; school, public and academic librarians; youth media and media literacy activists working in non-school contexts; and media professionals. Learn more about who will attend the Summer Institute in Digital Literacy 2020.

The 8th annual program will be held July 19 - 24, 2020 in a fully-online format as a result of travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. The program includes rich content using inquiry learning principles to advance leadership in digital literacy.  Participants select from among a variety of synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, with numerous opportunities for dialogue, sharing, and conversation.

This professional learning program offers participants a variety of different choices for how to learn. We know you need flexibility in scheduling your professional development around your summer schedule. You can align your choices with your work and family needs.
