URI Providence Campus Arts and Culture Program presents
SOL REVIVAL Exhibition November 4—December 6
Artists from the Sol Gallery, a regional Latinx Art Collective
Gallery Night Reception November 21, 5-9pm with music and performance by ECAS Theatre with excerpts from Lagrimas Negras, Black Tears".
There is a rich community of artists living and creating work in Rhode Island. Many of these artists were born elsewhere but are deeply woven in the fabric of this community. Often, the art reflects their rich cultural traditions. Twenty years ago, a group of these artists established SOL Gallery to exhibit their work, to promote the artists, and share their creative outpouring with the greater community. This exhibit brings together many of these artists and others invited by them to participate, to share this rich tapestry of culture and to revitalize the Sol Gallery as an arts collective.
This exhibit will feature work by: Nilton Cárdenas, Perú; Joel Rosario Tapia, Puerto Rico; Pablo Mijares, Venezuela; Andrea Pérez Bessin, Puerto Rico; Jose Sejo, Dominicano; Wayne Alaniz Healy, México; Lizett Mejía, Dominicana; Rodrigo Beltrán, Colombia; Guillo Pérez, Dominicano; Juan Bravo, Dominicano; Luis Cepeda, Dominicano; Lena Gal, Portugal; Francisco Hernández, Dominicano; Marcia Guerreros, Dominicana; Daniel Manta, Perú; Kamyl Bullaydi, Cuba; Aria García García, Cuba; Evans Molina, Cuba; Guillo Pérez, Dominicano; Miguel Gómez, Dominicano; Javier Betancur, España; Salvador Sánchez México; Bob Rizzo, USA; James Munford, USA; Raphael Diaz, Cubano; Felix Diclo, Dominicano.
