About this Event
Encouragement to explore our identities and to live our own truths - we see this all the time in those inspirational social media posts. But have you ever stopped to think about how your social identity might affect how you see and experience the world? Or what it means for your interactions with others from similar or different social groups? And where do power and privilege come into play? How can understanding these concepts and their impacts on society help us to embrace diversity and to become more inclusive of others?
All extremely important questions, ESPECIALLY for those on the path to becoming professionals in a global market!
Please join us for "Social Identity, Power & Privilege and Their Impacts on Society" on Wednesday, April 14th from 6:00-7:30 pm EDT. This virtual workshop will be facilitated by members of URI's Diversity Dialogues, a group of student leaders who want to help YOU, their peers, engage in a meaningful discussion around this important topic. Active participation during the session is encouraged and welcomed! Note: this event will not be recorded.
Please RSVP by April 13th at 4:00 pm EDT to receive the Zoom link prior to the event.
