Bio:

Jeff Huang is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Brown University. He received his Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of Washington in Seattle, and his MS and BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He conducts research in human-computer interaction focuses on behavior-powered systems, where he builds personalized applications from passively-collected behavioral data. Prof. Huang's work spans the domains of mobile devices, health, personal informatics, and web search. He cofounded World Bender, a Techstars-backed company that makes geolocation mobile games. He has received an NSF CAREER Award as well as funding from NIH.
