Fact: Young people spend an average of 6.5 hours a day on cell phones, computers and other devices. That doesn’t include the time they use screens for school and homework.
‘Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age’ is a documentary that explores the effects all this screen time is having on the lives of young people and their families. Physician and mother of two Dr. Delaney Ruston became interested in this issue when she found herself constantly struggling with her two children about screen time. Rushton felt guilty and confused, not sure what limits were best, especially around the use of mobile phones, social media, gaming, and how to monitor online homework. Hearing repeatedly how other parents were equally overwhelmed, she realized that this is one of the biggest, unexplored parenting issues of our time.
This film is recommened for parents and teens and gives suggestions for how to create a safe and healthy media diet for your family. See the website and trailer for more information: http://www.screenagersmovie.com/
