This virtual event is an opportunity for our 2026 Open Newsroom Fellows to present their plans for reporting on science topics relevant to Rhode Island communities. Attendees from Rhode Island’s research and news communities, as well as the interested public, will listen and share valuable feedback for the students to develop their news portfolios.

Portfolio Pitch Night, free and open to the public, is also an opportunity for attendees to share their knowledge and perspectives on the issues fellows are seeking to address.
