#Plant Science and Entomology SeminarMarianna Szucs, Assistant Professor of Entomology at Michigan State University, will present a seminar entitled, "The effects of agent hybridization on effectiveness and safety of biological control".
Dr. Szucs' research in biological control of weeds has taken her from Switzerland to Idaho, Colorado, and now Michigan. In Michigan, Dr. Szucs will be collaborating with Lisa Tewksbury from URI's biological control lab on biological control of swallow-worts. In this seminar she will discuss her research at Colorado State University where she looked at the effects of hybridization in a biological control agent (Longitarsus jacobaeae) introduced to control the exotic weed, tansy ragwort.
