About this Event
Join an online, interactive roundtable discussion with URI Graduate School of Oceanography and Commercial Fisheries Research Foundation experts on what we know – and don’t know – about the impacts of offshore wind on Rhode Island’s coastal waters and beyond.
Please register to receive a Zoom link.
Offshore wind offers great potential for Rhode Island, and the nation, to meet its goals for reducing carbon emissions. As wind farms off the coast of the Northeast U.S. move forward, oceanographers and policy-makers are working to ensure that marine life, habitats and livelihoods are protected.
GSO professors Art Spivack and Martha McConnell will lead the discussion with GSO Professor Jeremy Collie, Emeritus Marine Research Scientist Robert D. Kenney, Emeritus Senior Marine Research Scientist Barbara Sullivan-Watts and Executive Director of the Commercial Fisheries Research Foundation David Bethoney.
