Special guest lecture on nonviolent activism in Cambodia with Mu Sochua
Mu Sochua, who has dedicated her life to fighting for women's rights and democracy in Southeast Asia, will speak on "Nonviolent Activism: Protecting Freedom and Human Rights in Cambodia" at 5:30 p.m. in Room 115 of Ballentine Hall, 7 Lippitt Road.
Sochua served as a member of the Parliament of Cambodia and as the country's first minister of women and veterans' affairs. She was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 and received a Leadership Award from the Vital Voices Foundation. She continues to meet with international leaders on the restoration of freedom and democracy in Cambodia.
