Join us for Metcalf Institute’s 2018 Annual Public Lecture Series, June 11 - 15, at the URI Bay Campus. Speakers will address a wide range of urgent environmental issues and explore how these issues are being communicated to the public. They’ll discuss the cost of extreme weather events, which totaled $300 million in economic losses last year. We’ll hear from the former chair of a disbanded Federal climate panel about new leadership for climate action. We’ll also learn about immersive storytelling techniques journalists are using to take news audiences to the frontline of environmental issues.
The lectures by nationally recognized scientists, policy experts, and communicators begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and at 11 a.m. on Friday.
Friday, June 15, 2018 at 3:30pm to 4:30pm
