http://kingstonchambermusic.org #URIWeMakeMusicOn Friday, May 4th at 7:30 PM at the URI Fine Arts Center Concert Hall, the Kingston Chamber Music Festival will present Shades of Summer II, an annual thank-you concert to the community for their tremendous support over the past thirty years. Shades of Summer II features the URI Brass Quintet and three Kingston Chamber Music Festival artists.
The three Kingston Chamber Music Festival artists are pianist and Artistic Director Natalie Zhu, as well as the Formosa Quartet’s violinist Jasmine Lin and cellist Deborah Pae. The URI Brass Quintet will perform Edwald’s Brass Quintet No. 3 in D-flat Major, Op. 7, and the Kingston Chamber Music Festival artists will perform Glière’s Duos for Violin and Cello, Op. 39 as well as Arensky’s Trio No. 1, Op. 32 for violin, cello and piano. Admission is free for all URI students and ages 18 and under, while regular admission tickets are $30. Tickets are sold online at kingstonchambermusic.org and will be available in the lobby one hour before the concert.
For the past thirty years, Kingston Chamber Music Festival has brought talented chamber music artists from all over the country to the Southern Rhode Island community. The center of the festival’s work is their annual two-week summer festival of six reasonably-priced subscription concerts, which will be held this summer from July 25th - Aug 5. They have also recently expanded their season, and are now presenting several concerts through the year.
