About this Event
19 Upper College Rd, Kingston, RI 02881, USA
We have invited some very special guests to share in an inter-generational panel conversation about their own experiences with LGBT+ identity and issues.
A Stonewall Rebellion veteran, David Velasco Bermudez and his husband, Robert Isadore, will join us for their lifetime of reflections on advocacy and LGBT+ rights. A URI alumni and staff member on campus.
Holly Nichols, will also share her thoughts, including her experiences as a student on this campus in the 1990’s and as a staff member who remains active in advocacy.
Finally, current students at URI will share their reactions to these topics. 50 years later, return to the Stonewall Rebellion with us and learn about the unofficial birth of the LGBT+ civil rights movement in the United States!
Many people know little about this important and powerful event in our queer history and this is your chance to learn about this pivotal moment in time and discuss where we’ve gone since then!
Dinner will be provided as well!
