Are invasive plants taking over your yard or coastal or waterfront property? Are you interested in learning more about why invasive plants are a problem for biodiversity and ecosystem balance?

Join URI faculty and staff, invasive plant management experts from across New England, and fellow non-invasive plant enthusiasts for an in-depth look at the impacts of invasive vegetation on biodiversity and ecosystems in Rhode Island at this one or two-day training.

Homeowners and curious individuals are encouraged to register for the one day enrichment workshop on Monday, January 10, 2022 on topics ranging from invasive plant ecology to common species found in Rhode Island to best management practices for landscape restoration.

Landscape managers, land trust volunteers, landscape architects, environmental consultants, educators and coastal or waterfront property are encouraged to register for the two-day certification program. Participants will learn about how sensitive coastal and freshwater buffer areas can be managed (and when they can’t) based on RI Coastal Resource Management Council and RI Department of Environmental Management rules and regulations. If you plan to manage invasive plants for clients, on coastal or waterfront property, or if you’re curious about land management regulations in Rhode Island, join us on Monday, January 10 and Tuesday, January 11 to become a RI Certified Invasive Manager!

Training Fees:
One-day workshop registration: $100.00
Two-day certification registration: $200.00
