Introduce your students to working with big data

With Harrison Dekker (University Libraries)

Thursday March 28th, 12:30pm to 1:30pm in Chafee 241

Do you wish your students became familiar with significant survey research datasets and/or start performing simple statistical analyses earlier in the curriculum? In this session, Harrison Decker (Library) will provide a brief overview of  the basic resources available through our institutional subscription to Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) which contains over 10,000 datasets. The conversation will focus on two different models for assignments that introduce students to working with these datasets. Participants will also learn how to explore the wide range of datasets available in the ICPSR.

Please sign up here.
