Are you interested in working in the Foreign Service, diplomacy, multilateral and non-governmental organizations or another international career? Are you also interested in becoming proficient in the language that you are learning and using it in one of the previously mentioned career paths? Are you a freshman or a sophomore? The International Studies & Diplomacy program might just be for you. The ISD program is a dual-major program that requires that you complete the International Studies major, a language major, a study abroad experience at an ISD-approved program and that you achieve Advanced-Low language proficiency according to the ACTFL language proficiency scale. The URI ISD program is unique in that it is one of the only International Studies programs in the country requiring advanced language proficiency, and thus we anticipate that our students will be very competitive on the international job market. If you are interested in learning more, we are having our first ISD social on Monday February 25th at 4pm in the Alumni Center. There will be pizza, good conversation and a chance to meet students who are currently in the program. We hope to see some of you there!
