International Nonviolence Summer Institute

The 19th Annual International Nonviolence Summer Institute 2018 will be held on the URI Kingston Campus June 4 – 15, 2018. Participants from many countries and US states will converge to learn about the philosophy and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,  developing the Leadership skills necessary for promoting peace, nonviolence, civil resistance, & social change in their local communities, region, or globally.

History shows that the success of peaceful social transformation depends largely on individual leaders who are knowledgeable and well-trained in the strategies and methods of nonviolence.
