Seed funding will catalyze innovative projects strengthen Rhode Island’s research ecosystem and support proposals that embody transdisciplinary, use-inspired approaches. We encourage:

• Collaborations with local, state, tribal, or federal government agencies
• Collaborations among more than one institute of higher education, especially partnerships that involve primarily undergraduate institutions. 
• Research priorities of Rhode Island-based tribes and/or organizations that support indigenous interests in the state, including tribal student success. 

By funding high-impact projects, RI-NEST seeks to strengthen the state’s research competitiveness and workforce development capacity for its citizens, and support long-term societal and economic growth.
