In this book club participants will read Inclusive Teaching: Strategies for Promoting Equity in the College Classroom and consider ways of adapting it to their courses.

Outcomes

  • Explore inclusive and equitable teaching practices.
  • Consider ways to apply inclusive teaching strategies to their teaching practice.
  • Further develop relationships with colleagues.


Intended audience
This group is open to anyone - graduate teaching assistants, post-docs, tenure and teaching track instructors, part-time faculty - who is interested in exploring ways to promote inclusivity and equity in their classes.

Date, time, location

Based on the spring community's feedback, the Fall 2023 book club will consist of one 75-minute session per week beginning the week of 9/25 and ending the week of 11/6. There will be a one-week break during the week of 10/16. Sessions will meet on Wednesdays each designated week from 3:30-4:45 pm. Each session will be offered in a hybrid format where you can choose to attend either in-person or virtually for each session.

Badges
Participants who attend and engage in at least 4 of the 6 sessions will earn a Participant Badge for this learning community.
