How can we help students make meaningful connections between their own interests, the courses they take, and their professional goals? How can we spend more of our time in academic advising helping students with life planning instead of just box checking curriculum sheets? In this discussion group, we will spend half of our time reading the book “Hacking College: Why the Major Doesn’t Matter—and What Really Does” by Ned Scott Laff and Scott Carlson, and the other half building a toolkit to empower anyone who advises and mentors students to incorporate the “hacking college” approach. This discussion group is for any faculty or staff member!

This program is co-sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences.
