Graduate School Virtual Workshop: Reading with Focus & Purpose

Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Virtual Event

New upcoming virtual workshop hosted by the Grad School's Academic Skills Support Consultant!

Studying by simply reading and re-reading is one of the weakest forms of studying. The problem is that readers often read without much thought.

After you read the paragraph above, for example, did you move to this one and continue reading? Most readers do. Most readers don’t pause to think about what they have read. The study strategies you’ve read so far all describe things to do with the information you read in order to learn from it. This workshop will offer ways to maximize learning while reading less.
