About this Event
Free EventJoin URI Master Gardeners and Norman Bird Sanctuary Education staff for a collaborative workshop focused on Monarch Butterfly Restoration Habitat and Mabel’s Native Plant Demonstration Garden.
Enjoy a short interpretive walk to observe and explore two different wildlife habitats. Mabel’s Garden is a defined garden with native plant habitats, and Norman Bird Sanctuary’s sunny 2.5 acre Monarch Butterfly Restoration Habitat is nearby. What types of insects and animals do these spaces attract? Learn how to increase biodiversity by using native plants, which are essential for supplying food sources and shelter for wildlife. The presenters will talk about wildlife corridors, and how your yard can be an important stopover spot.
