What you need to do

1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year to be considered for all federal, state and university aid. The application is open until June 30, 2026.

• Create an account and username (FSA ID) for StudentAid.gov. Your contributors (e.g. parent for dependent students) will need their own FSA ID as well.

2. Check Award Status

• First Year and Transfer students will receive an email from Admissions telling them when their award is ready for review. This process will begin in late February 2026.
• Returning students will receive a URI e-mail notification in late June which can be view in eCampus

 3. Check your URI email and your To Do List in eCampus for any missing information required to complete the awarding process.

E-Bills will be available for First Year and Transfer Students in mid-July.
