This fall, Faculty Office Hour is focusing on brain health.
In our second session Jaime M. Ross, Ph.D. will discuss aging and brain aging disorders. Dr. Ross is an assistant professor of neuroscience within the George and Anne Ryan Institute for Neuroscience and Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy. She studied neuroscience and fine arts at Saint Lawrence University, then obtained her Ph.D. in medical sciences in the Department of Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health Graduate Partnerships Program. Thereafter, she completed post-doctoral training at both Karolinska Institutet and Harvard Medical School. In her research, Dr. Ross uses genetic and genomic approaches to understand the basic mechanisms of disease, focusing on aging and age-related diseases, and in particular brain aging disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
