Do you have a passion for and commitment to learning a foreign language? Are you planning to immerse yourself in a foreign language through study abroad? (Or, would you if you could find some funding to do so?)

Administered by the Rhode Island Foundation, the Beatrice S. Demers Foreign Language Fellowship provides funding to dozens of Rhode Island college students (regardless of home residence) and other Rhode Island residents each year, including URI faculty and staff. The average award is between $7,000 and $9,000.  Last year URI students and faculty received over $250,000 to support their immersion experiences.
