Class of 2023 Commencement Weekend

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce the official schedule for the Class of 2023 Commencement Weekend, to be held May 19–21 at the Kingston Campus. All undergraduates who have completed or are scheduled to complete degree requirements by December 2022, May 2023, or August 2023 and all graduate students who have completed or are scheduled to complete degree requirements by August 2022, December 2022, or May 2023 are eligible to participate.

This year, the Main Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2023—a URI tradition on the Quadrangle—will take place on Saturday morning, May 20. This celebration includes a formal procession, traditional ceremony, and conferral of undergraduate and honorary degrees. The Graduate School degrees will be conferred during an individual college ceremony held in the Ryan Center on Friday evening, May 19.

All participating members of the Class of 2023 will have their names announced, cross the stage, and have professional photos taken during their individual college ceremonies, listed below.

Friday, May 19

•    5 p.m. Graduate School: Ryan Center
 

Saturday, May 20

•    10 a.m. URI Main Commencement: URI Quadrangle
•    12 p.m. College of Arts and Sciences: URI Quadrangle
•    3 p.m. College of Nursing: Keaney Gymnasium
•    4 p.m. College of Health Sciences: Ryan Center
 

Sunday, May 21

•    9 a.m. College of Business: Ryan Center
•    11 a.m. Alan Shawn Feinstein College of Education and Professional Studies: Keaney Gymnasium
•    12:30 p.m. College of the Environment and Life Sciences: Ryan Center
•    2:30 p.m. College of Pharmacy: Keaney Gymnasium
•    4:30 p.m. College of Engineering: Ryan Center
 
Registration will be required for all college ceremonies, and the number of guest tickets allotted will be based upon the number of RSVPs and venue capacity. Additional information and a link to RSVP will be sent to members of the Class of 2023 through their URI email in February.
