Students in the graduate 'Biological Oceanography' class (OCG 561) will
hold their poster symposium on December 6th.

At this event, students working alone or in small teams will present the
culmination of one semester's work of research, on a topic of their
choosing.

Here is the list of presenters and topics:

  • Bishop, Ian. Latitudinal gradients and diatom community composition in the Southern Ocean.
  • Carney, Jessica, & He, Bing. How does the shift in species richness with latitude change with organism size in marine ecosystems?
  • Dannhauser, Casey & Flecchia, Nicole. Coastal Water Quality Indicators in Warren’s Cove, Osterville Massachusetts
  • Dunn, Matt; Living Shoreline Installation Impacts on Mid-Atlantic Estuarine Biomass.
  • Feen, Melanie, & Setta, Sam. The impact of physical factors on phytoplankton community composition derived from pigments.
  • Fontaine, Diana; Gardiner, Christine & Hauer, Michelle. Melting Sea Ice and Ocean Production: Implications for the Global Carbon Cycle.
  • Jordan, Skyler. The role of oceanographic fieldwork in the age of automation.
  • Katz, Sam. Review of microbial response in the northern Gulf of Mexico to the ‘Deepwater Horizon’ oil spill
