Certification covers Lifeguard/First-aid and Professional Rescuer CPR/AED.

Prerequisites

Must be able to present a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.

Successfully complete the pre-course skills test.

Pre-Course Skills Test

Participants must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, consisting of 100 yards freestyle, 100 yards breaststroke, and 100 yards mixed freestyle and breaststroke. Additionally, they must retrieve a 10 pound brick from 10 feet of water, swim the brick 20 yards back to the side of the pool, and get out of the water without using the ladder or stairs. The brick retrieval portion must be completed in 1 minute and 40 seconds.
