Join us for a screening of Bandida, a comedy by Susan Knode, a resident at the Burbank Senior Artists Colony, who wrote the screenplay, her first, when she was in her 60s as an assignment for a creative writing class. The film is about an elderly woman who rides a senior bus to rob a liquor store. In the process, she develops a bond with the store owner, who lets her get away with the crime.

A companion documentary by This American Life, the NPR radio show hosted by Ira Glass, about the making of the film and Ms. Knode's late-life transformation into a screenwriter.

Join us after the films for a Q&A session with Tim Carpenter, distinguised guest speaker for the Thewlis Lecture, who produced Bandida. Total time for both films: approximately 30 minutes.

Consistent with its public mission, the University of Rhode Island provides equal opportunity and inclusive access to events, services, and programs regardless of protected status.
