The University of Rhode Island is hosting the sixth annual Rhode Island Food System Summit focused on food innovation through sustainable and regional partnerships on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, from 9 a.m. to noon. Join government, academic, business, and community partners as we discuss how community leaders are helping to make our food system more sustainable, more accessible, and more resilient through the development of state-of-the-art facilities and groundbreaking programs.

Hosted by the University of Rhode Island, this year’s event will feature speakers from across the New England food ecosystem who will cover a wide range of topics, including panel discussions on controlled environment agriculture, new developments in shellfish aquaculture, and novel financing opportunities. Speakers will discuss successes and lessons learned, as well as how we can take what we’ve learned in Rhode Island and New England to support our nation’s food system.
