“…With God against Man”: Documentary and Discussion

“…With God Against Man” highlights the unsung heroism of Portuguese diplomat, Aristides de Sousa Mendes who is credited with rescuing 30,000 refugees in Nazi occupied France during World War 2. The film will be introduced by Dan Subotnik, Professor of Law at Touro University. Professor Subotnik is the son of Louis and Emma Subotnik, who were among those rescued by Sousa Mendes.

This event is part of URI Diversity Week and is sponsored by The Portuguese section of the Department of Modern Classical Languages & Literatures, Hillel and the Holocaust Education and Resource Center of RI.
