Why Science Isn't Enough: Faith, Reason, & the Human Need For Certainty w/ MIT Professor Troy Van Voorhis
Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences, 100 (Auditorium) 120 Flagg Rd, University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI 02881, USA
Troy Van Voorhis is an associate professor of chemistry at MIT whose research focuses on quantum chemistry. He will be sharing why he, as a scientist at one of the world's best universities, believes in God.
Here is Troy's own description of the night's lecture:
“How can a scientist believe in something as antiquated as the Bible? Believing scientists often encounter questions of this sort both in the popular press and in coffee table conversations... In this talk I will address a few of these common misperceptions and discuss how science and faith are integrated in my own life and decision making."
