Commencement: Ryan Center and College Ceremonies

The University-wide Ceremony at the Ryan Center is followed by College Ceremonies for students with all of their families and friends.

The Ryan Center and College Sites

10 a.m., Doors open for degree candidates and two "rain" ticket holders.
12:30 p.m. Commencement begins (90-minute first ceremony)
2 p.m.  College-based ceremonies begin.

Just as when commencement is held on the Quadrangle, the first 90-minute ceremony will be followed by each college ceremony at different locations. At their college ceremony, students will cross the stage, shake hands with their dean, and receive their degree -- with all of their family and friends present.

Each graduating senior will receive two tickets for their guests to attend the first ceremony, at which overall speeches and honorary degrees will be presented. No undergraduate student degrees have ever been presented during this ceremony.

All other family and friends are asked to go directly to their student's
college ceremony site where they will be able to see the important
moment - when their student crosses the stage to receive their degree.
