March starting at bus circle, Memorial Union, ending at Memorial Union Ballroom, Ballroom
The Feminist Collective, a new group on campus focused on community organizing and activism, announces "HER TIME," a Women's March and reception happening on March 8th that we hope will become a yearly event for the URI community.
The Women’s March will be collaborating with PINK Women and PLEASE on March 8th for International Women’s Day. The March, starting at 4:10 PM, will be from the bus circle, around to Edwards Hall and the library, ending at the Multicultural Center, with a reception inside of the MSSC from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. At this reception, we will be featuring visual and performance pieces celebrating women, as well as refreshments and more ways to get involved with activism in the community. Whether you’d like to come march with us, come to the reception or simply help us get the word out, we hope that this march will become a unifying event in celebration of women and equality on campus for years to come.
Students/colleagues/friends/professors are all invited on the 8th for the celebration! If you have any questions, or are interested in having your art work shown at and/or performing at the reception, please email ashley_mejia@my.uri.edu or Hannah Woodhouse hcwoodhouse@uri.edu
If you'd like to stay updated on the feminist collective and are interested in working with them around an issue you're passionate about, please reach out by emailing us here, and following us on Facebook and Instagram!
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us, we’d love to hear from you!
Looking forward,
