If you use a private well for drinking water, be a smart well owner. Make sure the water is safe to drink. Attend a free program to learn how to maintain your well and test your water. Water quality expert Alyson McCann from the University of Rhode Island will offer the program on February 6, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the North Kingstown Free Library.
The workshop is co-hosted and sponsored by the Rhode Island Department of Health. Well owners who have attended this program in the past have said: “These experts are very helpful. They use plain language and cover the basics.” “This was a good review of how a well can get polluted and how to prevent it.” “I finally understand why it’s so important to test my water and when and how to do it. It’s easier than I thought.” You will get easy to read handouts to remind you about key points. Alyson will be sure to answer your questions either during the program or afterwards.
Annual water testing kits from the RI Department of Health will be available after the program. Attendees can return the kits and payment on February 7 from 8:00 to 9:00 AM at the North Kingstown Free Library and they will be taken to the State Health Lab in Providence for testing.
