Are you considering applying to medical, dental, optometry, or podiatry school in 2014? This session is geared towards students who are near ready to apply to health professional graduate programs in medicine, dentistry, optometry, or podiatry (including MD, DO, DDS, DMD, OD, or DPM programs). Those considering applying, or planning to apply to these programs during the next application cycle--which starts in Summer 2014--should attend this session.
The Chair of the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) will provide an overview of the HPAC process, which assists URI students in preparing for entry into medical, dental, optometry, and podiatry programs. Students who intend to apply in 2014 will go through HPAC during the Spring 2014 semester, a pre-professional application process that includes completing a draft personal statement, seeking letters of recommendation, etc. The URI HPAC evaluates prospective candidates and furnishes official endorsement letters on behalf of the institution for students who successfully complete the process and decide to apply in 2014.
*At this session, we will shed light on this process and discuss all the resources here to support you!*
Note that this is the first of two times we are offering for this session. The second session is on Wednesday, October 30, 3-4pm: https://www.facebook.com/events/203445599829716/
