Every spring semester, the University of Rhode Island's Student Alumni Association organizes an exciting and unique event called Oozeball. Oozeball is a campus-wide mud volleyball tournament that takes place in a field flooded by the fire department. Many students participate and form their own teams of 6 members. Besides the volleyball tournament, it is a fun environment with many other things to do. People can come to play in the mud, watch their friends, partake in the side activities, and listen to some great music from the DJ. This year, there will be food vendors for participants or spectators to enjoy. At the end of the day, the muddy shoes are donated to an organization called greensneakers. Oozeball is one event that no one ever forgets. Get ready to get muddy!

Registration is now full. Please come watch the teams and enjoy the fun!

Fantastic event!! So many students involved which really showed that there is a community here at URI: and they love mud! I thought the hosing down of the students after they had played was incredibly inappropriate but that is the only aspect I would suggest changing, and potentially offering free towels to keep the contestants warm! SAA did a great job running the event and referring the matches.
