Keaney Blue is generally the proper attire for a University of Rhode Island athletic event, but pink is in vogue for two upcoming games at the Ryan Center.
Fans attending this game against St. Joseph’s University are asked to wear pink in honor of the Athletic Department’s sixth annual Pink Out. The event will benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I had a lot of fun at the pink out game this year! A couple things to say about it: I liked the shirts more than last years, I thought that there was a good effort to get the crowd into the game and excited, and I love all of the free things thrown out during the game. Most importantly, I like how the students were able to sit in the lower sections. I thought that was beneficial to the school spirit through the students who did attend the game. I have no doubt that there are things that can be done to get a larger crowd and more enthusiasm. I also have no doubt that a winning team would be a major part of that.
