Greenfins Aquaculture Facility Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Graduate School of Oceanography Dean Bruce Corliss and College of the Environment and Life Sciences Dean John Kirby cordially invite you to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the generous donation of the Greenfins Aquaculture Facility to the University of Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay Campus.

The 4,200 square foot facility was completed in 2017 as a public-private partnership between URI and alumnus Peter Mottur, who started Greenfins Global LLC, a Rhode Island company focused on tuna aquaculture. This donation is clear evidence of URI’s work to advance the Blue Economy statewide. Greenfins continues to support the work of URI Professor Terry Bradley, who uses the facility to breed live tuna with his research team as part of the Greenfins Aquaculture Center of Excellence.

Please join us on Thursday, September 27th at 2:00 PM at the Narragansett Bay Campus in front of the Greenfins facility on Aquarium Road for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. A reception will follow on the Knauss Terrace.

Please RSVP.
