From Bizarre to Bazaar: New Zealand lessons in provoking and supporting agrifood entrepreneurship

Craig Prichard is a scholar, researcher, and sheep milk industry evangelist. He has earned accolades for his research on university-industry collaboration and for his work on developing an alternative dairy industry in New Zealand. He is also known for his “full-value chain” approach to university-industry engagement, which supports the formation of distinctive new business communities.

Universities the world over are increasingly involved in efforts to enhance and extend their contribution to local, practitioner and business communities and to respond to big global challenges such as environmental sustainability.

Dr. Prichard will present his current work on developing and prototyping methodologies for university-industry engagement through a ‘full value chain’ approach that supports the forming of distinctive new business communities amid the wide debate around forms of community and collective entrepreneurship.
